Paid Services – Forensic Testing for Citizens -
The Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL), Government of Maharashtra, offers certain paid services for citizens, institutions, and organizations on request. These services are chargeable as per Government of Maharashtra guidelines. Currently, the following two services are available:
Paternity / DNA Relationship Test
A DNA (paternity/relationship) test helps establish biological relationships such as father-child, mother-child, or sibling-sibling. This test is often required for:
- Legal disputes regarding parentage.
- Immigration or official documentation purposes (subject to court orders where required).
Process:
- Citizen must download and fill the Paternity Test Request Form (available below).
- Provide complete details of all individuals involved (Guardian/Parents, Child, etc.) and attach valid ID proofs.
- Submit the signed form along with prescribed fees.
- DNA sample collection will be scheduled at an FSL.
- The samples will be tested in FSL’s DNA Division and a signed report will be issued.

Important Instructions :
- All forms must be duly filled and signed before submission.
- Forms should be sent along with required supporting documents and fee receipt.
- Incomplete forms or missing information will delay processing.
